A Substance Abuse Professional (SAP) is a person who evaluates employees who have violated a DOT drug and alcohol program regulation and makes recommendations concerning education, treatment, follow-up testing, and aftercare.
Over 10 years of experience as a SAP working with Individuals, Transportation Trade Groups, Corporate Medical/Safety Departments, Employee Assistance Programs, Human Resource Departments, Laboratories, Managed Care Organizations, MRO Services, and Third Party Administrators.
The employer is required to immediately
remove the employee from performing safety-sensitive functions.
The employee is to have an evaluation by a SAP and complete recommendations.
